Bayahibe Resort - La Romana, Dominican Republic

Bayahibe Resort – Viva Wyndham Resort Group, Dominican Republic

La Romana is probably the most well-known city in the Dominican Republic, despite being one of the youngest in the country. Its urban development began the first decades of this century thanks to the establishment of the Puerto Rico Sugar Company villa; renowned for local crafts and home to a rural community dedicated to fishing, today it is an enchanting place to breathe full-fledged history and local culture.
The beautiful Dominicus Beach, with its clear waters and unspoiled beach, is the perfect setting for the Bayahibe Resort of the Viva Wyndham group. The 580 colonial-style rooms, the four pools, the four bars and the various gourmet restaurants welcome guests, who will have no other thought than to relax in the beautiful nature and appreciate the relaxation in the new Stenal Wellness Center. The Spa area is equipped with a Finnish sauna, a Turkish bath, and bucket shower. The sauna, made of Fir wood, comfortably seats up to ten people and is alongside the aromatic steam bath, a humid environment where balsamic essence is supplied by an automatic dosing system, perfuming the steam with essential oils that have positive effects on breathing. The materials chosen for the sauna and the Turkish bath recall the whiteness of the sand and the intense blue of the sea; at the end of the stay in the two cabins, guests can refresh themselves with the bucket shower, an intense cooling ritual coming from the Nordic tradition.
