Relais San Maurizio Luxury Spa
Member of the prestigious Relais & Chateâux boutique hotels collection, surrounded by beautiful hills in the Italian Region called Langhe, the ancient San Maurizio monastery is the ideal retreat for enjoying a unique experiences of well-being and relaxation. Its mineralized waters, known and used by the monks since the seventeenth century, are the basis of the renowned draining and detoxifying treatments offered in the Wellness & Medical Spa.
Inspired by the meditative silence of the Monastery, the wellness area built by Stenal is conceived as a harmonious melt between architecture, history and design, a vision that guided all the design choices: from the recovery of local materials such as Langhe stones, coming from parts of the Monastery itself, to the use of materials from the latest nanotechnologies, designed to withstand the saline climate that could affect plants and cabins.
The wellness center, over a thousand square meters, includes the Salt Cave, a wide environment with an high-density saline pools, an heated indoor pool with hydromassage, hammam, gym, the panoramic sun terrace and 11 cabins for beauty treatments, massages and therapies. At the beginning of 2014, a new wing was inaugurated, restoring and partly expanding the ancient caves to host the brand new aromatic wellness program.
All the equipment for the wellness center created by Stenal have been carefully tailored according to the project of creating an aromatic path, able to wisely use the herbs that still grow in the monastery's garden: in the Finnish sauna of the Elite line it is possible to breathe the intense natural aroma released by Cedar wood; in the Antique bio sauna, made ancient wood coming from Doloites hutts, a special structure contains aromas and officinal herbs, constantly refreshed to offer visitors an experience of the highest quality. In the wellness area there is also a ice fountain whose basin is made of stone and the experience Ray shower with chromotherapy and aromatherapy
